Join us for a weeklong tour of Sicily, an island at the southern foot of Italy. In the colorful city of Palermo you'll enjoy tasting the street food in the bustling markets. We will see the famous Valley of the temples with Greek ruins that date back to the same time period as the Parthenon in Athens. We'll see amazing Byzantine mosaics in a hilltop town and sample pastries in a cobblestoned village near the sea. We'll learn about the Sicilian dishes in our hands on cooking classes. Eastern Sicily is home to Mt. Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe. Its slopes boast some of Sicily's best wine. We'll taste the wines of the area and match them with the best local dishes. This journey will introduce you to the Greek, Arab, Moorish, Spanish, and Norman influences of this amazing island.
