China Discovery trip

The lure of China will bring us there in 2008, the year that Beijing hosts the Olympics. You'll experience the mysterious Forbidden City and take a dragon boat across the lake at the Summer Palace. We'll also visit the artisans of cloisonne and silk making.

Our hands on cooking classes will include dishes like Peking Duck and Beijing noodles. We'll tour the famed Chinese gardens. One of our favorite experiences is the visit to the Chinese herbal medicine center for a relaxing foot massage while we learn about traditional Chinese medicine.

We'll also go to Xian to see the incredible clay warriors, numbering in the thousands. Finally we'll end our trip by visiting the Chinese countryside to see how a rural family lives and have a cruise down the river.

Come and see ages of history and a fascinating culture while also getting a look modern China like the "bird's nest" stadium of the future Olympics.
